Words From The Coach
 | Scott Hinkel
Wrestling
Another season of Boilermaker Wrestling is just getting started with a new face at head coach. Scott Hinkel has been a member of the coaching staff as an assistant for the past 14 seasons, but this will be his first year with the title of head coach. As a student-athlete at Purdue, Hinkel earned All-America honors in 1987 in the 126-pound weight class and received Academic All-Big Ten accolades. He was the first of only two wrestlers in school history to accomplish both in the same season. Hinkel ranks first in program history in career falls (45) and second in career wins (127). The program is already off to a solid start this year and Hinkel hopes the team can continue to perform well in a very tough Big Ten Conference.
