WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will be collecting canned goods/donations for Food Finders Food Bank before the Purdue-Michigan State football game on Nov. 14.

"The food pantry is at an all-time low with the recession and needs lots of food before Thanksgiving," said Cathy Wright-Eger, Special Projects Manager - Student Services. "We have lots of student-athletes ready to collect."

Non-perishable food items, such as boxed meals, cereals, soups, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta and peanut butter (all in non-glass containers), will be collected. Non-food items such as paper goods, diapers and hygiene items also are welcome.

Drop-off points will be located on the football side of Mackey Arena near the Athletics Ticket Office, in the southwest corner of Ross Ade Stadium in the Cary Quad parking lot, and by Purdue Pride on the north end of the stadium.

The collection sites will be easily recognizable as banners will be present at each site.

There also will be a handful of student-athletes walking around tailgates collecting money and cans.
