Following two successful basketball seasons, Purdue stands in 27th place in the 2006-07 U.S. Sports Academy Directors' Cup winter standings.

The Boilermakers have racked up 377 points and are less than 12 points out of the top 25. Purdue is the sixth-highest ranked school from the Big Ten, which boasts five institutions in the top 25.

Purdue's ranking is its highest mark in the last six U.S. Sports Academy Directors' Cup winter standings. A complete list can be found below.

Eleven of 15 NCAA winter championships have been completed thus far. The following institutions have captured titles to date, Florida (men's basketball), Tennessee (women's basketball), Penn State (fencing), Wisconsin (women's ice hockey), Minnesota (wrestling), Auburn (men's and women's swimming), Arizona State (women's indoor track and field) and Wisconsin (men's indoor track and field). In the National Collegiate sports of rifle and skiing, Army had the highest Division I finish in rifle, second, and Dartmouth captured the 2007 skiing championship.

The U.S. Sports Academy Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. The United States Sports Academy, based in Daphne, Alabama, is the program's sponsor. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports - 10 women's and 10 men's.
