WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - As the 2008 softball season approaches, the Purdue squad would like to invite fans to "Meet The Boilers" on Saturday, Feb. 2 in the Mollenkopf Athletic Center.

The event, which is free and presented for fans of all ages, will begin at 10 a.m. with an open practice. A question and answer session with the players and coaches will follow at noon. The event will conclude with an autograph session.

The 2008 team, which combines 15 returning players and five newcomers, looks to improve on last year's 33-32-1 record, which included a fifth-place Big Ten finish and the program's first ever postseason victory.

The Boilermakers open their 2008 season on Feb. 8 when they take on Jacksonville State at the Hampton Inn Bama Bash in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Come out and spend the morning watching and getting to know your 2008 Purdue softball team at Meet The Boilers, Saturday, Feb. 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
