Junior guard Kelsey Barlow earned high praise from CBSSports.com senior college basketball writer Jeff Goodman on Friday, as the writer isted Barlow as his No. 5 breakout player for the 2011-12 season.

Goodman notated his entry on Barlow with the following:

Was suspended towards the end of last season, but as long as he stays in line, he should be one of the top players on the team. Averaged only 5.1 points as a sophomore.

Arguably the Boilermakers' most athletic player, Barlow is expected to move out to the wing this season, after spending his first two years in the program as the Boilers' backup at the point, in order to match up with opponents' top perimeter threats.

He owns career averages of 4.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in 67 outings in a Purdue uniform.
