Former Purdue star Brian Cardinal earned his first NBA Championship ring on Sunday when the Dallas Mavericks closed out the Miami Heat, 4-2, to win their first-ever world title.

Cardinal is the second Boilermaker to win an NBA title in recent years, joining Glenn Robinson, who captured the crown with the San Antonio Spurs in 2005.

Cardinal played 12 minutes in the series clincher, knocking down a three-point field goals and handing out one assist. The Mavericks were +18 when Cardinal was on the floor on Sunday night, tied with Shawn Marion and Jason Kidd for the team high.
